Throughout time many soldiers sacrificed their lives in the battle field without being identified or their bodies to be found. The need to represent all these unidentified victims and pay official tribute to those fighting for their country has led nation in the creation of such a symbolic memorial, the tomb of the unidentified soldier. The tomb of the unidentified soldier expresses the meaning of patriotism, has all the elements of a high patriotic deed and is the most apparent event of praise and glory that has to follow the memory of those who voluntarily died for their country. The Evzone that is located in Parkou Square, in the city Centre is a memorial dedicated to the Unidentified Soldier of the Balkan War.
